Throughout the North Split’s environmental study, INDOT has worked closely with the Section 106 consulting parties and adjacent neighborhoods on Context Sensitive Solutions (CSS). CSS includes the elements of landforms, local infrastructure, interchange infrastructure, vegetation, and community and public art.
Using the Aesthetic Design Guidelines developed during the CSS process, Superior Construction and its team have been refining the infrastructure and landscaping that will be constructed in the coming year.
INDOT recently hosted four virtual public meetings for the adjacent neighborhoods to present those plans and gather feedback. If you would like to review the preliminary landscape plans or view the slide deck of the presentation, they are available at northsplit.com/landscape. Comments will be accepted until Dec. 10, 2021. Superior will finalize the aesthetic and landscaping plans based on those comments early next year.
