Resource Agency Meetings

Completing the environmental process on a project this size requires coordination and cooperation with many state, local and federal resource and permitting agencies. Given the potential impact the environment, neighborhoods, businesses, recreational lands, and historic properties, these agencies will provide critical input on nearly every aspect of the project.


The project team will meet with environmental resource agencies at the following milestones:

  • Project scoping/kickoff
  • Purpose and need and preliminary alternatives
  • Preferred alternative and mitigation (public hearing)

Resource agencies may include:

  • Federal Aviation Administration
  • Federal Highway Administration
  • Indiana Department of Environmental Management
  • Indiana Department of Natural Resources
  • Indiana Geological Survey
  • National Park Service
  • US Army Corps of Engineers
  • US Department of Housing and Urban Development
  • US Department of Interior
  • US Environmental Protection Agency
  • US Fish and Wildlife Service
  • US Forest Service

The resource agencies will meet up to three times.
