The Indiana Department of Transportation, in partnership with engineering firm HNTB has introduced a virtual project office for the North Split project. The interactive online platform represents the first-ever virtual project office implemented by INDOT, and the innovative approach allows users to stay engaged on the North Split project while prioritizing health and safety during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
Visitors to the virtual project will be greeted by “Christine,” a virtual guide that helps navigate visitors through several stations. Visitors can review and comment on the project’s Environmental Assessment, ask questions, watch the most recent public hearing presentation, and learn about the project’s preliminary design, aesthetics guidelines, construction timeline, and traffic planning. Visitors can even view a 3-D flyover visualization to understand how the North Split interchange will operate once open to traffic following construction.
The virtual project office c is best experienced using Google Chrome or Firefox browsers on the Windows or macOS operating systems.
