If you’re headed to Lucas Oil Stadium this weekend for the Big 10 championship game between the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Michigan Wolverines, or the Big 10 Fan Fest, you should plan ahead for road closures as part of the North Split project.
I-70 traffic coming from the city’s west side can access downtown via the West, Illinois, Meridian and Washington Street exits. Those traveling north on I-65 can exit at Washington Street or take I-70 westbound to the downtown exits.
Drivers coming from the northwest can exit at West Street or the Meridian/Pennsylvania exit. I-70 traffic coming from the east or northeast sides of the city can continue onto I-65 northbound or exit at the newly constructed Michigan Street ramp from the I-65 collector/distributor.
You’ll want to note the following full-time local street closures under the interstate:
- Vermont Street
- Saint Clair Street
- Lewis Street
- Market Street
In addition to those closures, College Avenue will be closed under the interstate between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Maps and additional information about impacts to local streets are available at northsplit.com/maps/local-streets.
You can access the City of Indianapolis’s road closure list at indy.gov/activity/street-closures.
